Zenhour Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

In short: Zenhour does not collect, store or share any personal data. Everything the app knows about you stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Who we are

Zenhour is an iPhone app that shows golden hour, blue hour, sunrise, sunset and the moon for any place and date. It is made by Ron Kjernell, Zenscape ("we", "us").

Your location

If you allow it, Zenhour uses your device's location to calculate sun and moon times where you are. The calculation happens entirely on your device. Your location is not sent to us and is not stored by the app beyond what is needed to show the current screen.

The Zenhour widget uses your location in the same way, on your device, to show the next golden or blue hour. You can turn location access off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Zenhour. The app still works without it: you can search for any place instead.

Saved spots, plans and reminders

Spots you save, plans you make and reminder times you choose are stored only on your device. Reminders are local notifications scheduled by your device; nothing is sent to a server. This data is removed when you delete the app.

Place search and maps (Apple)

To search for places, show maps and look up the name of a location, Zenhour uses Apple's built-in map services (MapKit). When you search for a place, or when the app looks up the name of your current location or a spot you tap on the map, that search text or location is sent to Apple to get the result. We do not receive this information. Apple's handling of it is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

What we don't do

Children

Zenhour does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change is released.
